Fast Desk Method

Steady ground, in the middle of your day.

Eight weeks, one on one with me on Zoom. Fifteen minutes a week, one new reset each time, eight in all, built around how you react when your day closes in. You do them at your desk, in your chair, between whatever the day throws at you. Nothing gets added to your day or evening.

"I was amazed by how much clearer I was able to think after just taking 90 seconds to relax."

Alison S., after three back-to-back calls

In 2012, I knew exactly what would’ve eased the pressure. I just couldn't use any of it. No time.

Superstorm Sandy hit, and I had to make sure my parents were okay, physically and mentally, which included sorting out their housing. My full-time job didn't care about any of that.

For months I was exhausted. Frazzled. Upset.

Your version probably looks different. Yours probably looks more like any old Tuesday: at your desk by 7:30, lunch more of a concept, and your shoulders up around your ears.

If you work from home, everyone assumes you're free, so they call and drop by whenever. But for you, every interruption feels like a threat, because it means stopping what you're doing, and stopping is the one thing you can't afford.

From the outside, you look calm. People are always telling you that as you smile and rub the knot at the base of your neck.

The Fast Desk Method

Resets that happen inside your workday, not after it.

Most of the advice you've been given asks you to leave. Leave your desk, leave early, leave what you're doing. Find your yoga mat, go for a walk, head to the gym.

I remember times when even I couldn't get to my own yoga mat, and I've taught yoga for over 25 years. It made one thing clear: one more thing at the end of the day is one more thing too many.

The Fast Desk Method doesn't ask you to leave. It's eight weeks of one-on-one sessions with me.

Some of us brace. Some of us spin. Some of us soak up everyone else's emotions. You get eight resets built for the way you handle it that you do at your desk, in your chair, in whatever you're wearing. Two minutes is all it takes.

How a week works

  1. We meet for 15 minutes on Zoom.

I teach you one reset, we do it together, and we talk about the best ways to fit it into your day. Then you go back to work.

  2. You get the recording and an email.

The video of our call and your action items land in your inbox, so you don't have to remember any of it.

  3. You use it in your day.

If something doesn't make sense, you send me a text or email. You get one each week between calls.

What changes when you stop leaving yourself off the list

  • Two minutes between meetings changes how the whole afternoon goes.
  • You catch the tension while it's building, before it moves into your neck, jaw, and mood and sets up shop.
  • Tomorrow's calendar stops making your stomach drop.
  • You finish one thing before your inbox drags you into the next.
  • You have something left for the people you go home to, even when home is just down the hall.
  • You stop waiting for a vacation to feel like yourself again, because the reset fits inside your day.
  • You have tools built for the way you react, ready for you to reach for in the moment it counts.

"I have been way more productive and able to focus, put things into actionable steps where I was stuck before."

"I'm less cranky when the kids get home from school because I'm not as worn out from my work."

Karen Bromberg, founder of Fast Desk Reset

Who you'd be working with

I'm Karen. I built this because I needed it first.

Sandy was the loud version. The quiet version happened every day after that. Every morning I promised myself I'd get to my yoga mat, and every night I was too exhausted to do it. One day turned into another, then a week, then a month.

The tension didn't wait. It stacked up, day after day, until my body started letting me know in very unpleasant ways how unhappy it was.

That's when I stopped asking myself to leave my day. I took what I'd learned in over 25 years of teaching yoga and 25 years in healthcare and boiled it down to two minutes.

That's the Fast Desk Method. It won't cure anything. It keeps the pressure from piling up while you keep running what you've built.

It's already stacking up.

Pressure doesn't hit all at once. It accumulates, meeting after meeting and email after email, until your body starts making the decisions for you. Some days you snap. Some days you go quiet.

And the longer it runs, the more normal it feels. A two-minute reset today costs so much less than weeks of having to dig yourself out later.

Still functioning is not the same as fine.

There's no group to wait for. You start when you sign up. I work with each person one on one, so right now there are 10 spots available. When they're full, they're full.

Questions you might be asking

I don't have time for one more thing.

That's why I built the Method this way. One more thing at the end of the day is one more thing too many. The call is 15 minutes once a week, and the resets take about two minutes at your desk, in the middle of the day. Your evenings stay yours. So do your weekends.

I've tried yoga, meditation, all of it. None of it stuck.

That's because most of it asks you to leave what you're doing. This doesn't. You also won't be doing it alone. You'll see me every week, and you'll have a recording to come back to.

I wouldn't call myself stressed. Is this for me?

You don't have to call it stress. It's been there so long it feels normal. If your shoulders are up by noon and there's nothing left by six, it's for you.

Will this fix my neck or my back?

No, and I won't tell you that it will. It won't cure pain or fix your life. It lifts the layer of pressure that stacks up on top and makes everything worse.

Do I need a mat, special clothes, or space to move?

No. You do it in your chair, in whatever you're already wearing. Nobody walking past will know.

What happens on the weekly call?

We meet on Zoom for 15 minutes. I teach you that week's reset, we do it together, and we talk about the best ways to fit it into your day. Then you go back to work, and the recording and your action items show up in your inbox.

What if I have a question between calls?

You get one text or email each week between calls. Send me your question and I'll answer it that week.

When do I start?

When you sign up. There's no group start date to wait for.

How does the payment plan work?

Two payments of $500. The first is due before we start. The second is due at the halfway point. Or you can pay $997 in full up front.

What's the call I'm booking?

A conversation with me about your day and whether the Method fits it. If it doesn't, I'll tell you.

Tomorrow looks a lot like today.

Same desk. Same calls. Same phone lighting up. You can keep carrying all of it until your body makes the call for you, and it will, eventually. Bodies are like that.

Or you can learn to set it down for two minutes at a time, right where you are. It's your choice, and you don't have to leave your desk for this one. You just have to book the call.

10 spots. One on one. Starts when you sign up.
